New Delhi: Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) will not exchange sweets with Pakistan Rangers at Attari Wagah Border this Diwali, confirmed BSF on Sunday.

The gesture which has always been celebrated widely across both the nations will not take place this Diwali due to relentless ceasefire violations across both sides of the border.

India and Pakistan’s relationship has been embroiled in tension since the Uri attack where 19 Indian soldiers were killed by terrorists. The attack, for which Pakistan was held responsible, was subsequently followed by retaliatory surgical strikes by India across the Line of Control (LoC).
