New Delhi: Autorickshaws are probably one of the most used transportation vehicles in India. However, their presence everywhere is not as appreciated by some as it is appreciated by the many who hail it.
When the brother of an autorickshaw driver came to the Phoenix Marketcity in Kurla to do some Diwali shopping with his family, he was apparently refused entry by the authorities inside the mall.
Vikas Tiwari is a 28-year-old software engineer and had gone to the mall along with his family when a security guard outside the mall said that auto-rickshaws were not allowed to park inside the mall.
“I was shocked to hear about this new rule. Frustrated, I got down from the auto and asked the guard where it was mentioned that autos were not allowed in the parking lot. At the same time, I began to shoot a video of the confrontation. He then took me to the security cabin in the parking area, where four other guards asked me to stop shooting,” NDTV quoted Vikas as saying.
The mall authorities have refused to speak to reporters about the incidence.
