Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while addressing the audience on the occasion of Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day at Lal Parade Ground on Tuesday announced Rs 2 lakh for each policeman who was part of the team involved in the encounter of the 8 SIMI terrorists and Rs 1 lakh for the ones involved in the searches.
Chouhan called the terrorists “enemy of humanity” and said that the ones sympathising with the terrorists should be ashamed of themselves. He further said that a system of quick trials should be evolved and fast-track courts should be set up for the speedy disposal of such cases. He also said that some people even get biryani in jail.
Hitting out at all the politicians questioning the encounter, the CM said that the politicians were playing “dirty politics” and that by questioning so they are also questioning the martyrdom of head constable Ramashankar Yadav, whose throat was slit by the SIMI operatives while escaping from the jail.
The Chief Minister also met the family of Ramashankar Yadav and called him a martyr.
Chouhan also said that the SIMI operatives killed in the encounter were involved in loots, dacoity, bomb blasts and posed a threat to the nation.
In Delhi here, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said that the “habit” of raising questions on the operation of the police and expressing doubt is not a good culture.
