New Delhi: A four-year-old girl was allegedly sacrificed by a ‘tantrik’ to retrieve a lost mobile phone in Assam. The girl was reportedly beheaded and thus offered as a sacrifice.
The girl was missing since October 24, and her headless body was recovered on Monday afternoon from a forest near her home in Ratanpur tea estate in Charaideo district of Assam. Her head and arms were found near her body.
However, according to the police there were no signs of any sexual assault. The victim belongs to the Adivasi community the girl was allegedly tortured and then beheaded by the ‘tantrik’ in order to find a missing mobile phone.
Police arrested the ‘tantrik’ Ariful Ali and Hanuman Bhumij whose phone was lost. The main accused in the case Abdul Jalil is still absconding.
