New Delhi: When the whole of Delhi is covered with a thick layer of smog and its citizens are facing its dreadful consequences, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has initiated a step towards the safety of its personnel. It has decided to provide 7000 masks to its staff deployed at airports, metro stations and other such public places.
The CISF DG announced that the medical team of CISF will also keeping a close check on the personnel suffering from breathing problems.
The national capital has been under smog for almost a week now with the situation in the city as well as its surrounding areas getting worse.
Earlier today, CM Arvind Kejriwal also called for an emergency cabinet meeting to discuss the city’s air pollution. The meeting is currently underway.
Union Environment Minister Anil Madhav Dave had earlier said that the ISRO images reveal that the pollution in Delhi caused by neighbouring states is only 20%.
Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu was also of the same opinion and said that there should be a proper plan of action which should be implemented as Delhi, being the national capital, doesn’t reflect well of the country internationally.
