New Delhi: In a shocking incident reported from Kochi, a minor boy has been booked by the Kerela police under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) act for impregnating a teenage girl.
Further disclosing the matter the Kerala police said that the accused and the teenage girl are relatives and a DNA test will be conducted to verify the claim made by the victim who had recently delivered a baby girl in a local private hospital.
A case has also been registered against the private hospital under section 21 of the POCSO Act for allegedly not informing the police on the same day when the girl was admitted for delivery, police officials said.
Contradicting the claims made by the police, hospital sources claimed that they had immediately informed the district CHILDLINE authorities after coming to know about the girl’s claim. It was the family members of the girl who had brought her to the hospital for admission, hospital added.
When asked about the child, the officials said, “The new born baby has been handed over to the childcare institution after the girl’s relatives informed the district CHILDLINE authorities that they were not ready to accept it.”
