New Delhi: Government is all set to impose an extra fare of Rs 8,500 per flight and not per ticket on major routes for a distance more than 1,500 kms. The decision has been taken in light to fund regional connectivity. For flights between 1,000 to 1,500 km, the levy will be Rs 8,000. 

With this decision, domestic flying will become more expensive as the fares for flights up to a distance of 1,000 Kms will be increased by upto Rs 7,500.

This increase in fare will be imposed per flight and not per ticket. The increase in the fare will be imposed from December 1, 2016.
