New Delhi: In a special drive under the implementation of the ban on construction and demolition activities, Delhi government found as many as 171 violations during the last 4 days.
Reports said that 11 teams of government officials conducted 310 inspections across the city.
During inspection in the last 4 days, the team found the violators and imposed on them a fine worth Rs 63.70 lakh.
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Tuesday declared that any kind of construction work in Delhi will be halted for a week to curb the alarming air pollution that prevailed since Diwali celebrations. It also asked the neighbouring states to cooperate with Delhi government to fight air pollution.
Following the order, more than 50 major construction works were stopped. Delhi police also booked around 600 vehicles for not having pollution under control (PUC) certificate.
