New Delhi: In a view to help out people, the government extended the use of two old big value currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 for paying public utility bills for another 72 hours.
According to the information, people till November 14 will be able to use the banned currency notes for paying electricity and BSNL phone bills.
The government on Friday also extended the toll suspension till 14th November midnight for all national highways.
Post the demonetisation, several reports have come where people faced problems while dealing with money and it may be due to this concern, the government has extended the use of banned notes for paying public utility bills.
Prime Minister in his address to the nation on Tuesday had announced that in order to put a menace and crackdown on black money, the government will demonitise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes and they will be replaced by new Rs 500 and Rs 2,0000 notes which will be available in the ATMs from November 11.
