New Delhi: In another case of dowry death, a woman hailing from Bihar lost her life after she was brutally beaten up by her husband and in-laws, as her family failed to fulfil the demand of a motorcycle as dowry.
The victim later identified as Mamta Devi (22) was brutally thrashed by sticks by her husband Vinod Yadav and in-laws, three days back at Balraji village in the district of Bihar.
As per sources, Mamta was taken to Sadar Hospital on Saturday morning after her condition worsened, where she died during treatment.
According to the complaint, the husband used to pressurise Mamta to bring money from her father to buy a motorcycle which her family had refused, police said.
Further speaking on the matter, Superintendent of Police Vikas Burman said that an FIR has been filed by the victims family under which five people have been named by the family of the victim in complaint are absconding.
The 22-year-old Mamta got married to Vinod Yadav four years ago and have a daughter.
