New Delhi: In a tragic incident, an employee working with State Bank of India (SBI) died after he collapsed during the office hours on November 11 in Rajgurunagar, Pune.
The deceased, later identified as Tukaram tanpure (54), was working as a messenger at SBI’s Rajgurunagar branch around 40 kms from the city.
Speaking on the tragic incident, the bank manager said, “Tanpure was working with us as messenger and today afternoon, when he was sitting in one of the cabins of the branch, he collapsed on the floor and fell unconscious.”
The deceased was rushed to a nearby private hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by the hospital authorities.
Speaking on the matter, Dr Amol Benke, a physician at Unicare hospital in Chakan, said that the victim was brought to the hospital at around 1.45 PM and he was already dead.
He further added, “Prime-facie, it appears to be a case of cardiac arrest, however, exact cause of death can be ascertained only after the post-mortem.”
Following the demonetisation, large serpentine queues were seen outside ATM’s and banks in order to get their currency changed due to which the government had extended the working hours and also the working days of the bank employees all over the nation.
Commenting on the issue, the manager also said that the bank has been managing the large number of crowds since past few days in order to ensure the smooth working.
