New Delhi: In another big development on the demonetisation issue, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday announced that Rs 1000 notes will not be re-introduced in the system as of now. 
 
Since the government’s demonetisation move, there have been several rumours that a new Rs 1000 note will also be introduced at some point of time later, but the Finance Minister Jaitley today put an end to all the speculation about launching a new Rs 1000 note.
 
Speaking on re-calibration of ATMs, the Finance Minister said, “22,500 ATMs will be re-calibrated today, nearly 2 lakh ATMs exist as of now. Exchange limit of Rs 4500 over counter reduced to stop misuse of funds.
 
Meanwhile, withdrawal of Rs 2.5 lakhs for marriages is a big relief to common man, Arun Jaitley added.
