New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Thursday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi three days’ time to roll back the demonetisation policy.
While addressing the rally in the national capital, Delhi CM alleged this move by the ruling BJP government was one of the biggest scams. On the other hand, the TMC supremo, stating the protest, said that PM Modi should not be running the biggest democracy with dictatorship.
Arvind Kejriwal further alleged that this move by BJP was in awe of writing-off around Rs 8 lakh crore of loans which was owed by PM Modi’s corporate friends by collecting Rs 10 lakh crore from the people through the exercise.
While protesting against the centre’s move of demonetising Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, Delhi CM went a step ahead and made a jibe at the Union Finance Minster Arun Jaitley alleging that it was impossible that the Finance Minister spent only Rs 2.5 lakh for his daughter’s wedding recently.
Addressing the rally in the national capital, Kejriwal said, “Modiji sent Vijay Mallya, who has huge debt, to London one night. He has also brought people to the streets (following demonetisation). People are being cheated. Why did IT not raid former BJP Minister G Janardana Reddy who spent Rs 500 crores in his daughter’s wedding? And they want us common people to spend Rs 2.5 lakh in a wedding.”
