New Delhi: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi paid a visit to the street vendors in Sarojini Nagar market on Thursday night to know how the recent decision by the ruling government of demonetising Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes has affected their business.

Rahul Gandhi reached the market at around 8:45pm and discussed the problems faced by the vendors. He interacted with shopkeepers of the area while squatting on the footpath for nearly half an hour.

While condemning the decision of the ruling government, Rahul Gandhi said, “While big players involved in black money have been allowed to go scot free, the common man is being harassed.”

Previously, Rahul Gandhi on November 11 had gone to State Bank of India’s (SBI) Parliament Street to exchange Rs 4,000.
