New Delhi: The Election Commission on Friday asked Finance Ministry to not use indelible ink in banks as it might interfere with the election process in the states going to polls. 
 
It is important to note that byelections will be held in West Bengal, Madhya Pradash and Arunachal Pradesh on November 19, while Uttar Pradesh and Punjab will be conducting assembly polls in 2017.
 
The banks in select metro cities are using indelible ink on index finger of the right hand of the custmors to ensure one-time exchange of banned currency of up to Rs 4500.
