New Delhi: In a move to ease the hardship faced by patients, employees of a post office in Haryana exchanged cash with them them.

A patient’s relative at the hospital said he appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes but said people were facing cash crunch problems.

He thanked the post office employees for visiting the hospital to exchange old currency for new with patients and said he felt good at this positive development.

Even ten days after the implementation of demonetisation by the Centre, there were reports of deaths in hospitals as doctors and medical stores refused to accept the old notes.
