New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after her kidney failure and is undergoing treatment there, in a rare show of gratitude had many people come forward to help her by offering their kidney.
Among those who offered Sushma their kidney, one such person is Fahim Ansari.
Fahim Ansari, who was framed in a drugs case in Maldives said on Saturday, “After I was framed in a drugs case in Maldives, I was helped by MP Kirit Somaiya and EAM Sushma Swaraj. I am grateful to her.”
“My family contacted the MP and because of EAM, my return to India was made possible. If my kidney can be of use to her, I would do that.”

After the news of Sushma Swaraj needing a kidney transplant went out, one of her supporter hailing from Bhopal, Gaurav Dangi a traffic policeman had offered his kidney for transplant to EAM Sushma Swaraj.
When asked about his gesture, Gaurav said, “Sushma ji is a good leader and we need her to be well and that is why I offered my Kidney. Blood group also matches.”
On Wednesday, the External Affairs Minister tweeted through her Twitter account about her convalescence. “I am in AIIMS because of kidney failure. Presently, I am on dialysis. I am undergoing tests for a Kidney transplant. Lord Krishna will bless,” she tweeted.
