New Delhi: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Sunday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over demonetisation decision and said that the saffron party will fail to form government not only in Uttar Pradesh elections but rest of the states also.

“BJP ab UP ke saath kisi aur jagah bhi ab apni sarkaar nahi bana payegi, (Besides UP, the BJP will not be able to form the government in any state)” Mayawati said.

“UP sahit poore desh ki janta BJP se unke Lok Sabha chunavi vado ke saath saath & note bandi ke faisle ka bhi hisaab legi, (People of UP and India will question the BJP regarding the promises made during the Lok Sabha elections and the decision to ban old notes),” she added.

Further criticising Modi, Mayawati said, “It is sad that the prime minister of the country did not visit the Kanpur derailment site. Sharing people’s pain is not in his nature,’’ she said.

“Dukh ki baat hai ki wo (PM Modi) wahan (Kanpur derailment site) nahi gaye, doosron ke dukh mein shaamil hona unke mijaaz mein nahin,” Mayawati said.

At least 104 people were killed and 150 injured after 14 coaches of Patna-Indore Express derailed near Pukharayan in Kanpur on Sunday morning.
