New Delhi: Officials of Railway police Force on Wednesday arrested two persons with Rs 70 lakh in old currency at Bathinda railway station in Punjab.

The suspects were passengers on a train which had departed from Delhi.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter.

Since the government implemented demonetisation, robberies have reportedly increased in the country due to cash crunch. Days ago, an amount of Rs 1 crore in old currency notes was looted from a bank in Odisha.
