New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday held a meeting via video conferencing with heads of all banks to discuss ways of expanding digital banking in India.
Addressing the media after the meet, the Finance minister said that mode of digital banking has seen growth in past few years.
“In the last few years there has been a huge expansion of e-wallets and debit cards use in the country,” he said.
The Finance Minister added that a task force has been set up to oversee the entire expansion. Jaitley also said that outcome of this move will result in shrinking of physical currency, but growth of business.
