New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal, who is set to appear in court for a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against demonetisation spoke to NewsX and expressed his views on the burning issue.
Sibal criticised the government’s sudden move to ban Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes and termed it unconstitutional.
“We have raised may issues in the PIL including the constitutional issues relating to implementation of the demonetisation move,” he said.
Sibal, however said it would not be appropriate for him to say much in the issue at this stage.
“I will be representing the case in the court. So, it would not be appropriate for me to say much on the issue, all I can say is that the decision was unconstitutional.”
Sibal also blamed the NDA govt for paralysing the Indian economy with demonetisation drive.
