Allegations against Sushma Swaraj baseless, says Arun Jaitley

NEW DELHI:  Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday addressed media along with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the capital where they announced a special package for Jammu and Kashmir. Here are the highlights of the conference:

•Development tops our agenda
•J&K and Leh-Ladakh have special focus for our government
•We will develop Jammu and Kashmir
•We have provided additional funds to J&K.
•Additional food grain for the state has been accepted
•NDA will rebuild 75,000 houses that are ‘kachche’ and are poor that are broken or damaged.
•Officials will be sent to J&K to formulate long term vision for the state.
•Rs. 2602 crore were released last year and this year, we will release Rs. 2437 crore to the state.
•A total of Rs. 5000 crore has been released last year and this year for Jammu and Kashmir flood relief
•We also announce a special grant to revive tourism in the state and rebuild 12 tourist locations in the state.

Rajnath Singh addresses media: Highlights

•J&K has BJP-PDP government
•We have commenced a Common Minimum Programme and we are committed to the full-fledged development in the state.
•Floods have destroyed the state last year.
•PM Modi as well monitored the situation that time and an additional amount of Rs. 762 crore was given.
•PM Modi has declared a relief of Rs. 1000 crore as additional amount for the people of Jammu and Kashmir
•People had no shelter in J&K. They lost everything.

Both Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh backed their minister Sushma Swaraj in the ongoing controversy related to IPL king Lalit Modi.

Speaking on the same, Jaitley said, “All the allegations made against the External Affairs Minister are baseless as she did nothing wrong. What she did was bona-fide. Sushma acted with good intentions and she is capable of taking decisions.”
