Basti: There seems to be no end to the problems faced by common man due to domonetisation. In a heart wrenching incident, a vegetable vendor was forced to run from pillar to post to arrange money for his wife’s cremation.
As per the reports, Phoolmati, 62, wife of 65-year-old Munni Lal passed away on Monday after a prolonged illness. However, Munni Lal could not perform last rites of his wife until Tuesday as he was unable to withdraw money from his account.
The vendor added that his repeated requests to bank officials were denied.
Meanwhile, the district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
