5 accused in Mysuru, Kollam and Nellore blasts sent to police custody

NIA and the Kerala Police teams were probing the November 1 Malappuram Collectorate bomb blast

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday produced five accused in Mysuru, Kollam and Nellore bomb blasts in a special court. The court sent them to police custody till December 9, 2016.

Days ago, the agency arrested six terror suspects of Base Movement for carrying out bomb blasts in government offices in south Indian cities including in Chitoor, Kollam, Malapuram, Mysuru and Nellore.

NIA and the Kerala Police teams were probing the November 1 Malappuram Collectorate bomb blast. It was found that the same group was behind similar blasts that took place in Kollam, Nellore and Mysuru.

Kerala state BJP President Kummanam Rajasekharan had called for a white paper on the progress of terror-related cases and claimed that there were "several sleeping cells" of terror outfit in the state
