New Delhi: Dense fog continued to engulf north India on Thursday. This has resulted in low visibility in various parts of the region — Delhi-NCR, Amritsar as well as parts of Uttar Pradesh.

In an unfortunate collision, 1 person was killed and 10 people were injured in a road accident on Yamuna Expressway. Sources confirmed that 12 vehicles collided into each other due to the thick fog resulting in the death of one person.

Flight operations at Delhi airport were temporarily suspended due to the fog. Several flights of both national and international carriers are delayed. Five flights have been diverted so far.

As per the Met department's forecast, this thick cover of fog may blanket north India for another week or so.
