Cyclone Nada: Depression crosses Tamil Nadu coast

Chennai: Cyclonic storm Nada passed off peacefully on Friday morning. The depression crossed Nagapattinam in north Tamil Nadu at a speed of 50 km per hour. 
 
“We have identified and strengthened 41 cyclone relief shelters with adequate food material and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have already arrived.” Rajesh Kumar, Cuddalore collector. 
 
As reported by ANI, up to 4cm rain has been received in Cuddalore, Puducherry and Nagapatiinam.
 
Squally winds speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph would prevail along and off Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts during next 12 hours.
 
The sea condition would be rough along and off Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coast and fishermen were advised not to venture into sea till Friday night.
