NEW DELHI: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday turned 45. Prime Minister Narendra Modi who otherwise leaves no opportunity to take a jibe at him and his party, extended his good wishes to the Gandhi scion.

“Wishing the Congress Vice President, Shri Rahul Gandhi a Happy Birthday. I pray for his good health & long life,” Modi posted on  his Twitter wall.

Hours after his tweet, Congress VP responded to PM’s good wishes. In his reply, Gandhi wrote, “Thank you for your best wishes Narendra Modi.”

Rahul Gandhi, who has reportedly been celebrating his birthday abroad ever since he joined politics in 2004, will be in the capital to celebrate the occasion this year.

In spite of requests since few years to stop the practice, June 19 is still an important date in the Congress calendar that sees public celebrations from workers.
