New Delhi: Two people died and three others were injured on Wednesday after some unknown gunmen opened fire at the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party office in Kharagpur in east Midnapore district of Bengal.

The dead were identified as the husband of TMC councillor of Kharagpur Pooja Naidu and 25-year-old Dharma Rao.

The incident happened at around 2.30 pm when three men hurled a crude bomb outside the TMC office.

The West Midnapore police said that they are trying to find out who was behind the attack and why they committed the crime.

“We are trying to find out who was behind the act and why they committed the crime,” said West Midnapore police super Bharati Ghosh.
