New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday criticised Amazon Canada for selling doormats featuring Indian flag on them. She also asked the online retail giant to apologise for insulting the national flag of India.

“Amazon must tender unconditional apology. They must withdraw all products insulting our national flag immediately,” Sushma Swaraj tweeted.

Sushma threatened that if the products were not removed, India would not grant Visa to any Amazon official.

“If this is not done forthwith, we will not grant Indian Visa to any Amazon official. We’ll also rescind the Visas issued earlier,” Sushma Swaraj said in another tweet.

Sushma’s response came after a person named Atul Bhope tweeted, “Amazon Canada must be censured and warned not to sell India flag doormats. Please take action.”

The External Affairs Minister asked the Indian High Commission in Canada to take up the issue with Amazon.

“Indian High Commission in Canada: This is unacceptable. Please take this up with Amazon at the highest level,” she tweeted.
