A day after an accident victim bled to death because no one came forward to help him, the Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah appealed to people to rush to the aid of such victims and immediately take them to hospital for treatment, instead of wasting time on filming the incident.

The appeal came after Anwar Ali, an 18-year-old, died on Thursday due to excessive bleeding while people were busy making videos of him and clicking pictures.

The incident happened in the Koppal district of Karnataka on Thursday.

In one of the videos that surfaced on internet, Ali is seen pleading for help but the bystanders show no concern.

Riaz, Ali’s brother told a news agency, “No one came to his help, they were making video and clicking pictures. If someone had cared, my brother could have been saved. More than 15 to 20 minutes were wasted there.”

“People at the spot were shocked and did not know how to help him as the victim was severely injured and was bleeding profusely,” added an unnamed eyewitness.

Few days ago, a police officer lost his life because no one offered a helping hand to him.
