Sasikala Natrajan, a close aide of the late Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa, is all set to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The swearing in ceremony will be on February 6, according to reports.

Earlier on December 29, a resolution was passed by the AIADMK to appoint Sasikala as party’s General Secretary. She formally took charge on December 31.

Miffed with her appointment, the late Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa’s niece J Deepa had announced the decision of joining politics. However, she didn’t clarify whether she will join AIADMK or float a new party.

After the death of Jayalalithaa, O Paneerselvam has been holding the post of chief minister in the state.

He was sworn in as the CM following the death of Amma, while her close aide Sasikala was subsequently elected as party General Secretary.
