The Indian Air Force (IAF) has claimed that it cannot divulge information regarding the details of the 36 Rafale jet deals which took place between France and India. Authorities claimed that the information is confidential in nature.

India and France signed an Inter-Governmental Agreement on September 23, 2016 for the supply of the Rafale aircraft. The Air Force said that the details of the deal are held in fiduciary capacity.

“Further, the information sought is also held in fiduciary capacity and no larger public interest is served by disclosure of such information. Hence, the same is denied,” said the Air Force.

A Right to Information (RTI) query was filed concerning the details of the deal and the agreements signed between the two countries.
