A major political development took place in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the assembly polls. National president of the Samajwadi Party legal wing and party spokesperson resigned from the party on Sunday.
Bhatia wrote on Twitter that he was forwarding his resignation letter to Akhilesh Yadav as well as party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav.

“I resigned because of recent developments in the government and the party. Not specifying the reason at this moment”, Bhatia told CNN-News18.
Bhatia has represented Samajwadi Party in public and television debates and had hailed the alliance with the Congress in most of his recent interviews.
Gaurav Bhati has claimed that he is not joining any other political party.
