Thieves broke into the south Delhi apartment of Nobel Laureate and social activist Kailash Satyarthi on Monday night, stealing many things including the replica of his Nobel Prize.

The office of the Nobel Laureate said that replica of the Nobel Prize has been stolen as Kailash Satyarthi has dedicated his award to nation and his medal lies in Rashtrapati Bhavan.

According to reports, burglars broke into Satyarthi’s residence in Alaknanda last night and stole jewellery and other valuable items.

Kailash Satyarthi had gone to Latin America to attend the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates 2017 in Bogota city.

The theft was discovered by Satyarthi’s son in the morning after he found the front gate of his father’s house in Alaknanda broken.

A case has been registered at Kalkaji police station and police are probing the incident.
