A 14-year-old boy was killed in West Bengal’s Nadia district purportedly over a tiff which involved the amount of Rs 150. Two teenage boys have been arrested by the police in the case.

Debasish Bhowmik had lent Rs 150 to two students of a reputable English-medium school in Nadia’s Krishnagar area on the eve of Saraswati Puja on February 1. However, when Debasish later asked for his money from the duo, an altercation broke out between the students.

When Debasish’s family did not see their son return home, they called the police station and filed a missing complaint.

When search was conducted for Debasish, the police found the body of Debasish dumped at a helipad site on Saturday night. He had been killed almost a week before.

The victim was hit with a liquor bottle and was then strangled to death by the two teenagers. Police arrested the duo right after conducting the preliminary investigation.
