AIADMK General Secretary VK Sasikala on Monday lashed out at caretaker Tamil Nadu CM O Panneerselvam and reiterated that attempts to divide All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) will not succeed.

“We have seen 1000 such ‘Panneerselvams’. For the past 33 years, we both have seen everything. So I am not scared, ” Sasikala said while addressing supporters outside the Poes Garden residence.

She also claimed that after Jayalalithaa’s death, Panneerselvam had asked her to take charge of the state, but she refused as she felt it was important for her to be with the body of Jayalalithaa.

“Panneerselvam asked me to take charge then, but I said I can’t at this juncture. So Panneerselvam was given responsibility,” she said.

Sasikala also expressed confidence that she will be able to form govt in Tamil Nadu as she had the support of party cadres.

“As long as the cadres are with me and with Amma’s blessings, an AIADMK government will be in place,” Sasikala said.

Sasikala added that she was not scared of anyone.

“I have been with Amma for 33 years and I am used to threats. What is happening now is not new,” she said.

Sasikala and Panneerselvam are locked in a bitter power struggle in the AIADMK as Tamil Nadu Governor Vidyasagar Rao is yet to take a call on the matter.
