NEW DELHI: Not a very long ago, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was caught up in a controversy over delaying a flight. In another such episode, one more leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju is facing massive criticism.

According to the reports, national aviation carrier Air India offloaded three passengers including an Indian Air Force officer, his wife and child to accommodate the Minister of State for Home Affairs on a Leh-Delhi flight.

The three were offloaded as Rijiju was accompanied by his assistant and Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh.

However, the MoS Homes have rejected of any role in the matter. He maintained that the flight was advanced at the last minute and Leh administration had arranged tickets for him.

While speaking with NewsX, Rijiju claimed that the pilot misbehaved with him. “The pilot of the flight misbehaved with us. They should not have pre-poned the flight. We were not informed about the rescheduling. There should be an action initiated against the airline,” he said.

The Union Minister apparently did not even attend the event he was scheduled to as he had to rush to the airport to board the flight.

The initial reports had said that the aircraft doors were closed for takeoff on June 24 but the flight did not depart at its scheduled time because the Minister and his accompanied members had to be aboard the flight still.
