The Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has extended the deadline of the submission of Aadhaar number till 31st March. Over 50 lakh pensioners have been told to link their pension accounts with their Aadhaar card.

Earlier, the date of submission was extended to February 28 through Jeevan Pramaan Patra programme to make the process smooth for pension seekers.

After demonetisation, the last date of submission of Aadhaar number was extended to January. The EPFO has made it compulsory for pensioners as well as subscribers to register Aadhaar so that the benefits of the Employees’ Pension Scheme can be made possible.

Pensioners can not only submit their life certificates through the bank, they can also avail the use of digital service to register their Aadhaar number for the pension scheme.
