Barely a month after the news of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s picture replacing the iconic image of Mahatma Gandhi, Health Ministry on Saturday ordered all of its hospitals to use only Khadi products.
The ministry which has 23 hospitals working under it has also approved a list of at least 46 products made by Khadi Udyog which will have to be used once the orders are executed.
Interestingly, earlier on January 12, Khadi Udyog in its Annual calendar had replaced Mahatma Gandhi’s image of weaving charkha with PM Modi’s photograph.

Khadi Udyog drew a lot of flak outside and from inside for their decision. The employees at Khadi Village Industries Commission (KVIC) staged a silent protest wearing black bands on their mouths.
