Yoga Guru Ram Dev on Monday said that the introduction of the new Rs. 2000 note was not a good for the country.

While addressing a press conference in Bhopal Ramdev said, “I do not like the Rs 2000 note as it facilitates corruption. It is easy to carry and can be easily transported. The bigger the note the easier it is to accept and give bribes.”

Ramdev also slammed the BJP lead NDA government and said that no political party is working towards the promotion of ‘swadeshi’ products as all parties were under the influence of multinational corporations.

Ramdev also took a dig at multinational companies like Coke and Pepsi; he said these are dangerous drinks. They do not have any nutrients and they should be kept away from the banks of the Narmada River. I would in fact like to throw them out of the country.

On November 8, 2016 Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes would no longer remain a legal tender and therefore old currency was scrapped.

After the demonetisation drive new Rs 2000 and Rs 500 notes were introduced by the BJP led NDA government.
