In a major blow to a private airline, the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Monday denied operation permissions from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer.

Further disclosing the matter, Defence spokesperson Lt Col Manish Ojha said, “A private airline, which had sought permission to operate a non-scheduled flight to Jaisalmer, could not be permitted due to failure on its part to fulfil requisite conditions pertaining to safety of the aircraft and passengers as per the guidelines and non-coordination of ground logistics prior to flight operation”.

IAF accords highest priority to the safety and security of passengers travelling on such airlines, he further added.

Following the denial, the airline threatened the IAF of initiating a legal action for disrupting their flight schedule and also causing them a huge monetary loss.

Citing massive disruptions in ongoing operations, the airlines claimed that it has suffered monetary loss due to non-clearance of the flight by the chief operating officer (COO) of Jaisalmer Air Force base, and threatened legal measures.
