Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s controversial graveyard remark on Tuesday.

While addressing media, Mayawati said that PM Modi should ensure construction of cremation grounds in every village and district in all Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led states and then he should talk about Uttar Pradesh.

The response from the BSP supremo came after PM Modi’s Fatehpur rally where he said, “If a village receives funds for a graveyard, then it should also get for cremation ground. If you provide uninterrupted power supply for Eid, then you should also do it for Holi”

“Gaon mein agar kabristan banta hai, to gaon mein shamshaan bhi banana chahiye. Agar Ramzan mein bijli milti hai, to Diwali mein bhi milni chahiye. Agar Holi mein bijli milti hai, to Eid par bhi bijli milni chahiye. Bhedbhav nahin hona chahiye”

PM Modi while addressing the rally also said, “In Uttar Pradesh, everyone feels that they are being discriminated and they are being denied their rights. Dalit complain that their share is given to the Other Backward Class (OBC), who in turn point finger towards Muslims and Yadavs, while Yadavs say that only the family people get the benefits.”

As per reports, Mayawati also said that her party respected every religion and caste during its tenure, whether it was providing electricity during festivals, or any law and order issue.

Mayawati while talking to the media also said that, BJP by now has realised they are not going to form Government in Uttar Pradesh.

Fatehpur goes to polls on February 23 in the fourth phase of the state assembly elections.
