Accused of molesting the minor daughter of a former minister, Bihar Congress vice-president, Brajesh Pandey on Tuesday resigned from the party, three weeks after he was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

Brajesh Pandey’s resignation came a day after the victim threatened to immolate herself if she does not get justice.

Speaking to a local TV channel in Patna, the girl said that she has also met Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, but there have been no arrests made so far.

The victim, a Dalit minor girl has alleged that she was sexually exploited by Brajesh Pandey in August last year. She also alleges him of running an inter-state sex racket.

“Priyadarshi took me to a flat in Boring Road area where he spiked her soft-drink. Brajesh Pandey was also there and sexually assaulted me,” the victim told a TV channel in an interview on Tuesday.

The prime accused in the case is, Nikhil Priyadarshi, son of a retired IAS officer Krishna Bihari Prasad Sinha.

The victim alleged she sexually exploited on the pretext of marriage by Priyadarshi, his father and a few of his friends. All the accused are absconding.

The victim is a daughter of a former Congress minister of Bihar. Brajesh Pandey has refuted all charges as baseless and a conspiracy against him.
