Animal rights group PETA is all set to move the Supreme Court to challenge the legislation passed by Tamil Nadu and Karnataka state assemblies allowing Jallikattu and Kambala respectively.

As per the reports, PETA is likely to produce new evidence in the apex court to suggest cruelty to animals during Jallikattu event. The body is yet to decide whether to challenge the state assembly legislations separately or together.

The ban on Jallikattu had triggered massive protests in Tamil Nadu following which an ordinance to allow the conduct of the sport was promulgated by the State Government.
