An earthquake of magnitude 5.2 on the Richter scale struck areas in and around Manipur on Friday.

According to the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), the earthquake was felt on Friday evening at 5:32PM and had with epicentre at Singngat of Chandrapur district.

Earlier on February 6, a 15-second earthquake shook the state of Uttarakhand. It measured 5.8 on the Richter scale and had it’s epicentre in Rudraprayag district.

The earthquake in Manipur came hours after tremors of 3.5 magnitude were felt in West Sikkim. The earthquake had occurred at 3:09 AM.

No casualties were reported.
