Azaadi slogans were once again heard at the Jadavpur University campus on Sunday where students had put up banners against Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Some of the banners termed Yogi Adityanath the ‘new Trump…Brahminical version of white supremacy’.

Some of the other slogans raised during the protest were “Azadi”, “Halla Bol” and “RSS door hatao”.

The slogans were raised by the students in front of the Academy of Fine Arts where an international seminar on persecution of minority Hindu Buddhist Christians in Bangladesh was going on.

Some of the students protesting there told the media that the protest was against RSS conducting of seminar on the issue of minorities in Bangladesh.

The students also said that they think RSS has been the reason for the deaths of thousands in Godhra and Muzaffarnagar and hence have no right to address the minority issue.

Slogans calling for ‘azadi’ for Kashmir, Manipur and Nagaland were also heard at the Academy of Fine Arts.

On the entire incident BJP MP Roopa Ganguly said, “The protest against the RSS is nothing but a mere publicity stunt. It is strange to see everything but studies taking place in such universities across the country.”
