Exhibition to sensitise people

New Delhi: A two-day exhibition on sensitising the public regarding various sub-specialties of plastic surgery was inaugurated at a hospital here on Wednesday.

The exhibition which was launched by Miss India 2014 Koyal Rana on the occasion of "National Plastic Surgery Day" will also have free consultation camps.

"The prime motive of these events is to familiarise and sensitise the public regarding various sub-specialties of plastic surgery and also clear various myths regarding this super-specialty," said Mahesh Mangal, chairman of the department of plastic and cosmetic surgery at the hospital.

"Specially designed posters and lectures helped general public clarify their doubts regarding various plastic surgical procedures," he added.

The event was attended by doctors, nurses and more than 500 students from neighbouring schools.

Apart from the posters, lectures were held on various topics like burns, congenital deformities like cleft lip, cleft palate and accidental injuries where plastic surgery can be an option.
