In a horrific incident, a gang rape survivor was attacked with acid outside in Lucknow’s Aliganj area in Uttar Pradesh. As per report, this is the fourth instance of acid attack on her.

The act took place when the 35-year-old victim was outside her hostel on Saturday evening when someone came from behind and threw acid on her, said Additional Director General of Police, Abhay Kumar Prasad. “The victim has suffered injuries to the right side of her face. Police will take strict action against the miscreant,” he added.

Police suspect the role of the same people who have attacked the victim in past as well.

The victim was gang raped in 2008 in her village in Rae Bareli and works at a food joint in Lucknow managed by other acid attack survivors.

In March this year, the victim was attacked with acid once again on a moving train as the attackers forced the abrasive liquid down her throat.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath had also visited the hospital where the victim was admitted in critical condition following the attack on the train. UP CM had also announced a compensation of Rs 1 Lakh to the woman’s husband and demanded the police to take strict action against the miscreants.

She was first acid attacked in 2011, twice in 2012 and another in 2013.
