Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued strict guidelines to his officials that any of his field visits would not have ACs, saffron towels and sofas for his comfort. This decision has come from UP CM to put an end to ‘show-off’ and those who fail to adhere to the above guidelines will face disciplinary action.
As per reports, in a recent order Yogi Adityanath’s office has said that the CM is “extremely upset” at extravagant arrangements like a red carpet, “towels of a certain colour” and special sofas.
“This should not be repeated in future. There should be no show-off and no inconvenience to people,” said the Chief Minister’s office in its order to the top administration and police officials.
Earlier this month, UP CM Yogi Adityanath was reportedly unhappy over the red carpet welcome during his visit to a martyred Army jawan’s family. The CM was there to handover a cheque of Rs. 6 lakh to the soldier’s family.
In May this year, Yogi’s government came under severe criticism from the Opposition over the installation of AC, coolers and sofas during his visit to a martyr’s house. Officials allegedly removed all the newly-installed luxury items from the house soon after the CM’s departure.
However, Adityanath supporters claim that the current CM had rejected the brand new SUV offered to him when he took over the office and still continues to use cars that were used by his predecessor Akhilesh Yadav.
