The man who masturbated in front of two women at Mumbai’s CST railway station on June 29 was arrested by police on Thursday. The man has been identified as Pradhan and he comes from Bhubaneswar. The accused works as a mason and has confessed to the act.
Pradhan has been booked under Sections 354 and 509 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and was presented in Railway Court on Thursday.
In the video, one of the women was leaving for Nashik from CST railway station. She reached the station at around 5.45 am and boarded Tapovan Express when Pradhan, who was sitting on his seat, began unzipping his pants and soon started masturbating while looking at the woman.
According to the woman, when she contacted a police personnel present on the platform, he walked away and told her to sit somewhere else. The woman recorded the entire incident and posted it on social media on July 12 and the post went viral.
When the police came to know about the video, they filed an FIR and nabbed the accused within six hours.
This incident raises serious questions about the safety and security of women at public places. According to sources, senior police officials have ordered to find out who was the policeman, who ignored the complaint of the complaint of the woman and ensure strict action against him.
